"Will You Regret Not Doing It?" was a quote I came up with that helped me make decisions, both small and life changing. The first time was when one of my bestie's was in a car accident that ended up fatal for her brother, a brother that was close, a best friend, a protector, and her housemate. They were almost inseparable. So, when she told me when the funeral was and said she understood if I couldn't afford to fly out given my own circumstances, this was the phrase that helped me make one of the most important decisions in my life. Many people had come for the funeral, but none had helped with the minor day-to-day preparations before the event. I drove them around, I made phone calls, occasionally I cooked, and offered my shoulder and as many hugs as needed. I would have regretted not being there for her and her family during one of the most difficult times in their lives. I've been able to make a trip to visit once a year, and even though the grief is still there, I can still feel their appreciation. Perhaps our friendship would not have lasted, had I not gone considering how many friendships she had lost or drifted during her most vulnerable time of grieving. So, ask yourself next time you are faced with a decision you are unsure about, "Will You Regret Not Doing It?"
